This month, over 20 local and national artists will be coming to MidTown and surrounding neighborhoods to create public art from August 23-28 for the CLEVELAND WALLS! International Mural Program, a production of POW! WOW! Worldwide. Recognized as one of the most well-curated mural festivals in the world, POW! WOW! Worldwide has helped transform the physical spaces of 17 communities around the globe. CLEVELAND WALLS! will mark POW! WOW! Worldwide’s first production in the Midwest.
This week-long celebration of art, culture, and community includes free family-friendly activities, performances, and artist talks throughout the week, culminating in a block party at the Visitor HQ at 7113 Euclid Avenue on Saturday, August 28. Watch artists painting murals throughout the week, and join for a community film festival, including the premiere of a documentary on graffiti art and history in the Warner & Swasey building. Catch performances and art walks Distinguished Gentlemen of Spoken Word, Twelve Literary Arts, Shooting w/o Bullets, and more. Enjoy a family-friendly party in AsiaTown in view of the new artwork, and participate in outdoor community artmaking at the Children’s Museum of Cleveland and Rainey Institute.
