Love in Action Ohio is proud to announce that we have successfully held multiple Pop-Up Covid-19 Clinics since the Fall of 2021.
Our last Covid Clinic was on January 3, 2022, at Indian Hills Senior Community located at 1541 East 191st in Euclid, OH.
Love in Action Ohio partnered with Neon Health, Lizzie’s House Senior Home Care, and Brickhouse Women’s Wellness. Through this Pop-Up Covid Clinic, about 100 people were able to get vaccinated or get their booster, as well as get Covid-19 testing. People were also able to receive information about Covid-19 and vaccinations.
Love in Action Ohio believes that the model of Education, Prevention, and Vaccination is essential in order to stop the spread of Covid-19 in Cleveland, OH.
We have also connected with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health in order to impact the entire county with our efforts.
In March we will be holding a Pop-Up Covid Clinic in Lorain, OH. Our goal is to stabilize many different neighborhoods throughout Ohio by educating, preventing, and vaccinating residents.
The “Rec Da Virus Tour” is a series of several Pop-Up Covid Clinics each month beginning in February.
Our February dates are:
Feb. 4 & 18th from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Rainbow Terrace Learning Center, 7310 Carson Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44104
Feb. 8 & 21st from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m at Stella Walsh Rec. Center, 7345 Broadway Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44105
The “Rec Da Virus Tour” is booked for February so we are now scheduling March and April. Please contact the Love in Action Ohio office number if you are a business or organization that wants to facilitate a Pop-Up Covid Clinic.
What is the “Rec Da Virus Tour” and what makes it any different from other Pop-Up Covid Clinics?
Love in Action Ohio and partners have assessed Covid-19’s damage in low-income and minority communities. We have come to the realization that many African American and Latino/ Latina communities’ needs are way more than just vaccination and testing for Covid-19. Many people are lacking food as a result of this pandemic. Rental/utility assistance, clothing, mortgage assistance, cell phones, tablets, and computers to decrease the digital divide are also needed.
During these Pop-Up Clinics Love in Action Ohio will be offering several additional resources. For example, we will also be doing HIV Testing at some events, and offering Career Services. Our plan is to develop a tour that addresses “all the needs of a man” in addition to Covid-19 services.
A few weeks ago the city of Cleveland had the highest number of hospitalizations in the country for Covid-19, and we seek to reduce those numbers. We seek to create a wraparound service experience at our Clinics for individuals and families.
“Help us save some lives… because that’s what we’re really doing” states Alisha Blackmon, CEO/Founder of Love in Action Ohio.
“Rec da Virus Tour” will go on for as long as Covid-19 is prevalent, existing, and doing damage in our communities.
