Removing the Stigma: Finding Strength in the Struggle — mental wellness event
By Denise Holcomb, Removing the Stigma founder
At times, it can be difficult to separate mental health from mental wellness, but they are different. One simple definition I have discovered which does not have a “professional cap” attached to it is “mental wellness refers to the degree to which one feels positive and enthusiastic about life. Mental health is the foundation for emotions, thinking, resilience, and self-esteem.” [1]
Taking care of our mental wellness is extremely important when it comes to ourselves mentally. For those of us who suffer with major mental illnesses, taking time out and learning how to care for our mental health can make a huge difference in our wellness journey, no matter where we are in our walk.
Removing the Stigma (RTS) is hosting the event Finding Strength in the Struggle on Saturday, October 2 from noon to 2 p.m. The event will be held at 216MUSCLE Training and Fitness, which is located at 2490 Lee Blvd. Suite 317, Cleveland Hts.
Everyday people like us will share personal stories of how they found positive and meaningful ways to maintain good mental wellness. The mental wellness event will include a panel discussion, along with a Q & A session. Tickets are $10.
