The Cleveland Foundation held it’s annual meeting with a host of funders and grant recipients. Highlights of the evening included the future of the foundation, an update on the new building construction and awards for community members. Honorees received the Homer C. Wadsworth award. He was the Foundation’s executive director from 1974 to 1983. Wadsworth was known as an innovative, visionary, and energetic leader, overseeing the foundation’s work not only as a community grant maker, but also as an educator, convener, and strategic investor.
The Homer C. Wadsworth Award was established to recognize local leaders who demonstrate creativity, ingenuity, risk-taking, and good humor in a civic, volunteer, nonprofit, or public-sector role. It is presented each year at the Cleveland Foundation’s annual meeting.
This year’s award recipients were LaJean Ray, Director of Fatima Family Center, and Eric S. Gordon, Cleveland Metropolitan School District CEO.
